Dear Parents,

Hi.  My name is Jana Burkholder and I am the Cafeteria Director for DBCS.  A new school year has begun and I look forward to serving your children in the cafeteria.  Minor changes have taken place on the menu so please take a look at the copy you receive.  We have added a new item and it is called “Fruit of the Week.”  We will pick a seasonal fruit each week to sell in the cafeteria for .50.  Some examples are apples, pears, bananas and oranges.

To help minimize the amount of cash the students have to carry a “Lunch Meal Card” is available for purchase.  There is only one card available for purchase this year for $20.  The card will only be available for purchase in the morning before school and during homeroom.  They will not be sold during lunch hours (10:45AM - 1:30 PM).  The cards may be used to purchase any item available to students from the cafeteria.  All students should bring money or a check for a “Lunch Card” in an envelope.  The envelope should be clearly marked with the student’s name.  All cards for Elementary students will be kept in a box in the cafeteria.  When the card goes below $5.00 a note will be sent home to alert you.  Middle and High School students will be responsible for keeping their own cards.  If lost the cards cannot be replaced. The cards are also only valid for this school year 2008-2009 and will not be carried over to the following school year.

On Monday we are offering Chic-Fil-A to all students (K4 thru 12th grade).

  On Wednesday we are offering Subway 4th and 5th Grade, all Middle and High School students.

• 6” Ham & Cheese Sub      $3.00

• 6” Turkey & Cheese Sub    $3.00

• 6” Italian BMT Sub           $3.00

On Friday Chanello’s Pizza Slices will be available to all students (K4 thru 12th grade). Cheese, Pepperoni and Sausage are available for $1.50 per slice. 

Lunch orders will be taken in homeroom and sent to the cafeteria by 8:30 AM each day.  The cafeteria will not order extra items.  Only students who order Chic-Fil-A, Subway or Chanello’s will have those items available.  All menu items on the attached DBCS Menu will be available for lunch each day.
