DBCS adheres to an October 1st, cut-off date. Students entering our 4-year-old kindergarten program must have turned four by October 1 of that school year. Likewise students entering our 5-year-old kindergarten program must have turned five by October 1 of that school year.
What does your "book fee" cover?
The book fee, as given on the tuition information page of the application package, goes to maintain or replace the textbooks, as needed, that your student will be using. This fee also covers consumables (workbooks) that are part of the curriculum.

DBCS offers either recess or gym every day to our Elementary students.
Our organized inter-scholastic sports teams begin in the sixth grade. DBCS fields Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. We are a part of the METRO Athletic Conference. While most of our students pack their lunches, we do offer hot micro-waved selections (hamburgers, subs, chicken nuggets, etc.) available for purchase, along with snacks, milk, juices, and diet sodas. Microwaves are maintained in the main dining area for students to warm or cook what they've brought from home.

What makes DBCS better than any other school?
We do not claim to be "better than any other school." That's huge, and largely, not provable.
Yet, we do offer a school in which all of our teachers are professing Christians. We view this work as ministry, and strive to teach and model Christian values for your student in the context of daily instruction, performance, and athletic competition. We sincerely hope that each student becomes a follower of Christ, and, from DBCS, goes on to live a God-honoring life, in whichever area God has directed him or her.
We strive to provide a quality education that will allow your student to compete successfully in college or career, wherever God may direct, while at the same time providing a safe and healthy environment emphasizing honesty, kindness, and courtesy. Many of our students make lifelong friends at DBCS.
Where do students from DBCS go after they graduate?
Our students choose many different paths upon graduation. Some go into technical training, the military, and community college. At least two-thirds go on to four year colleges or universities, both Christian and secular. We have graduates of William and Mary, U.Va., Virginia Tech, the United States Naval Academy, as well as Old Dominion University, Christopher Newport University, Liberty University, Grove City College, and Messiah College among our alumni. Our students have pursued careers in everything from the clergy and the mission field to engineering, and everything in between. We try to instill in our students the concept that wherever God leads you, you are ultimately serving Him in that capacity.
