Where to Begin

Welcome to Denbigh Baptist Christian School.
We hope that this year will be an exciting one for us all, filled with the adventure and excitement of many varied learning experiences. The purpose of this handbook is to further that aim by making understandable the philosophy and policies of the school and to answer some of the questions you may have concerning the school. The DBCS faculty is made up of degreed Christian teachers who believe that teaching is God's calling and all are dedicated to the task of training the student to the utmost of their ability.

Procedure for Enrollment

The complete application package may be obtained in our main school office Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM. You may also request for application packages to be mailed if you live outside the immediate area, please contact our school office. Please indicate if your child has ever been home-schooled when making your request, as this involves additional forms.

Interested parents will be asked to follow the procedures listed below in order to enroll their children in any grade at Denbigh Baptist Christian School. Acceptance of students, grades K4-12, for the next school year begins with the re-enrollment of our current school families during the month of February. DBCS reserves the right to interview, test, and selectively enroll applicants.

Students are required to provide a current report card, their report card from the previous year, and a copy of their most recent standardized test scores. Two years of standardized test scores are required for students applying for grade four or higher. Students must also complete a request for transfer of records and must take an admission test.  A place in the class is reserved for the student upon receipt of initial application materials.

However, students cannot be formally accepted until final transcripts from the previous school attended are received and satisfactory entrance testing and interview are completed.

  • Obtain an enrollment packet.
  • Complete all required documentation.
  • Complete Entrance Testing.
  • Attend a required Parental/Student Interview Meeting with the respective Principal.
  • Conditional confirmation of acceptance will be provided by phone and by letter.
  • Upon receipt of transcripts, a final decision will be made regarding acceptance. The parent/guardian will be notified by phone and by letter.

NOTE: A separate application form must be completed for acceptance into DBCS Extended Care. Applications are available in the school office.

Admission Policy

Children entering 4/5-year kindergarten must be 4/5 by September 30.  A child entering first grade must be 6 by September 30.  All students in grades 1-12 may be tested for grade placement. Student grade placement rests with the faculty and administration. All students must present a completed certificate of immunization to the school. An official birth certificate must be submitted for each student.

Generally, DBCS strongly discourages transfers into the school in the senior year.  However, when this is necessary, transfer students will be handled on an individual basis by the administration.  Students transferring in the senior year enter as “unranked” which means they are not eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian.  Requests for a numerical rank for college admission will not be affected by the “unranked” status if the student is transferring from an accredited school.

Home schoolers will not be accepted for admission into DBCS for their senior year only.  To receive a diploma from DBCS a home-schooled student must transfer into DBCS for at least the junior and senior years.
