Where to Begin
Welcome to Denbigh Baptist Christian School.
We hope that this year will be an exciting one for us all, filled with the adventure and excitement of many varied learning experiences. The purpose of this handbook is to further that aim by making understandable the philosophy and policies of the school and to answer some of the questions you may have concerning the school. The DBCS faculty is made up of degreed Christian teachers who believe that teaching is God's calling and all are dedicated to the task of training the student to the utmost of their ability. |
Procedure for Enrollment
The complete application package may be obtained in our main school office Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM. You may also request for application packages to be mailed if you live outside the immediate area, please contact our school office. Please indicate if your child has ever been home-schooled when making your request, as this involves additional forms.
Interested parents will be asked
to follow the procedures listed below in order to enroll
their children in any grade at Denbigh Baptist Christian
School. Acceptance of students, grades K4-12, for the
next school year begins with the re-enrollment of our
current school families during the month of February.
DBCS reserves the right to interview, test, and selectively
enroll applicants.

Admission Policy
Children entering 4/5-year kindergarten
must be 4/5 by September 30. A child entering first grade must
be 6 by September 30. All students in grades 1-12
may be tested for grade placement. Student grade placement
rests with the faculty and administration. All students
must present a completed certificate of immunization
to the school. An official birth certificate must be
submitted for each student.
Generally, DBCS strongly discourages
transfers into the school in the senior year. However, when this
is necessary, transfer students will be handled on an
individual basis by the administration. Students
transferring in the senior year enter as “unranked” which
means they are not eligible for valedictorian or salutatorian. Requests
for a numerical rank for college admission will not be
affected by the “unranked” status if the
student is transferring from an accredited school.
Home schoolers will not be accepted
for admission into DBCS for their senior year only. To
receive a diploma from DBCS a home-schooled student
must transfer into DBCS for at least the junior and
senior years. |
