:: About Us : ACSI
Denbigh Baptist Christian School is a fully accredited member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
In practical terms:
- DBCS meet a specific set of standards, defined by ACSI.
- DBCS is recognized as a fully accredited school in the State of Virginia.
What does it mean to be accredited by ACSI?
The ACSI accreditation programs for preschool, elementary, and secondary schools enable member schools to achieve and maintain spiritual and academic excellence. Recognized at the national level, as well as by many regional and state accrediting agencies, these programs provide a comprehensive evaluation model for Christian schools. The ACSI accreditation program was one of the first programs to be officially recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).
The complete list of ACSI standards for the school can be found on this web site.
To be accredited by ACSI, the chief administrator and all principals must hold an ACSI administrator's certificate. 80% of the full-time faculty must hold ACSI certification. You can view the requirements for administrator and teacher certification on the ACSI web site.
Does the State of Virginia recognize ACSI accreditation?
Yes. The Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE) oversees accreditation of nonpublic preschool, elementary and secondary schools in the Commonwealth. VCPE approves the accrediting processes of ten accrediting associations, including ACSI. DBCS is fully accredited by ACSI.
